DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

US 18 begins on the Sioux‑Lyon county line approximately three miles south of the City of Inwood, and travels southerly and easterly via the Cities of Rock Valley, Hull and Sheldon to the Sioux‑O'Brien county line in the City of Sheldon.

Due to an annexation to the south part of the City of Hull, the present description of US 18 in Sioux County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included in the primary road system to reflect this change in corporate limits. US 18 in Sioux County and the Cities of Rock Valley and Sheldon remain unchanged.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of US 18 in Sioux County from the primary road system and approve including the attached new description of US 18 in the primary road system.

US 18 begins on the Sioux‑Lyon County line approximately 7 miles west and 4 miles north of Rock Valley, and travels generally southerly and easterly via Rock Valley and Sheldon to the Sioux‑O'Brien County line in Sheldon, Iowa.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records US 18 in Sioux County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of US 18 in Sioux County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
